Isle of Khan

There are 15 general areas of the isle, each with its own unique environments and challenges. As the players discover the isle’s locations, the strange feeling in the air starts to become heavier and heavier.

  • A wild and singular place in the world of Palmyra. Over the millenia, the entirety of the three continents — Dru, Vaer, and Panala — have been explored, documented, and settled.

    Khan was a whole new frontier for the people of the known world when it was “discovered” by the Palmyra Trade Company, only 43 short years ago, before the onset of the War of the World.

    It is a land of gorgeous red rock desert, lush wetlands, and vibrant scrublands and savannahs. Its ecosystems are an amalgam of those found on earth in a number of continents, but largely inspired by Australia’s outback and the Mohave Desert in the southwest of the United States.

    Over the last four decades, the Royal Vega States and the P.T.C. have worked with the ruling locals to carve out their own colonies and holdings. The Ophidian Kingdoms, which most of the rest of the Isle belong to, are mostly kept free of the peoples of the mainland.

The Areas of Khan

  • The beating heart of the settler’s efforts. The town of the Uncanny Valley is civilized enough, though they do tend to like things a little rough.

    There are many small forests, herds of wildlife, and scenic vistas to behold in the 100 mile valley — but there are still dangers a plenty, too, so don’t let the homey charm fool you too deeply.

  • The sprawling wetlands that stem from the slow seep from the Rhile river as it runs south to the sea. It is a lush but dangerous terrain, filled with water-bound predators and strange, poisonous plants.

    And never too far off are the denizens of the Ophidian Gator tribes, the hulking reptilian citizens of Khan.

    -Enormous predators lurking out of sight

  • The provincial holdings of the Royal Vega States, and the seat of their power. The capital city of Port-Au-Maine is found in the south of the Province.

    The area of Maine is a green one, filled with large live oaks, willows, and gently sloping hills. There are dinosaurs to be found here, but mostly smaller and harmless ones.

    The aspects that are always in play on the Province of Maine are:

    -PTCs Pastoral Provincial Holdings

    -Settled in the mainland’s image

    -Cultivated rows, stately plantations

    -Old World city in the new world

  • The Uncanny foothills surround the valley on most sides, though their largest concentration is found directly north. With miles of foothills leading up to jutting, massive Uncanny Mountains, these hills are filled to the brim with resources begging to be plucked from the earth by those brave enough to face the dangers that the hills pose.

    And surrounding the hills like the mists themselves are the legends that have spun out about the so-called "haunted mountains". A place where monsters dwell. Where people disappear. Where folks see things that ain't rightly there. And where the rainbow storms seem to stream from the most commonly.

    Probably just normal mountains though.
